The Macallan Sherry Oak 25 years old forms part of our Sherry Oak range which features a series of single malt whiskies matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. This special single malt delivers an intensely rich and full flavour character, citrus, dried fruits and wood smoke.

• WHY: Macallan’s 25 year old Sherry Oak expression is considered one of the finest trophies in the world of ultra-mature single malt, showcasing the elegant side of what Speyside has to offer: soft, on the palate, a creamy texture, rich flavors of cakebread and Sherry, and a long malty finish.

• HOW: Macallan’s Sherry Oak range is 100% matured in sherry casks from start to finish. 25 years of Jerez oak maturation gives way to decadent and dessert-like flavors of toffee, candied orange peel, cakebread, and cocoa.

• WHAT: Macallan, along with Glenlivet and Glenfiddich, is one of the top selling Scottish single malts today, yet its dominance is a somewhat recent phenomenon. Founded in 1824, it wasn’t until the 1990s that Macallan began actively marketing its impressive library of ultra-mature whiskies. In 1999, the distillery was purchased by the Edrington Group, which began the expansion of both the distillery and the core range of available whiskies.
